Limiting the Depth of Earthquake Effect

The increment of earth pressures due to earthquakes is normally considered for the entire structure length.

However, for shoring structures, this solution can lead to the paradox that the longer structure in the soil can be less suitable for seismic loads. In this case, the effect of the earthquake can be limited to any depth below the bottom of the construction pit.

The use of this reduction is entirely up to the user and should be used with caution. The program always checks that the effect of the earthquake is considered at least to the depth of the structure above the bottom of the construction pit.
